Nurtured Mother grew from a simple understanding—that while so much care surrounds a new baby, mothers need tending to as well.

I’m Josephine, the woman behind Nurtured Mother. I have always been drawn to the quieter parts of caring for people—the warmth, attentiveness and small comforts that help someone feel genuinely looked after.

Becoming a mother deepened that understanding. I know how quickly the needs of the day can take over, while the mother herself can slip quietly to the bottom of the list.

When I visit, there is no need to tidy, entertain me or plan the day. I’m very happy to walk into real life—washing on the chair, dishes in the sink, an unsettled baby and a mother who has not had a chance to eat.

I’m there to notice what would bring you comfort, get on with what needs doing and take some of the weight from your day.

That, to me, is the heart of Nurtured Mother.
